Current Definition Automate and Informate
Automate is a technology which replace human. While informate provide people with rich access to a variety of information and with the information people can go beyond the requirements of a job to understand the larger picture. Systems that informate tend to be cooperative ones with person and system working together. [Norman 1993. pp227] The word "informate" was invented by Sushana Zuboff. [Zuboff, 1988. "In the Age of the Smart Machine"]
